Join Alice's madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar, and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game! Characters are plentiful, including three Cheshire Cats and dozens of other wonderfully wacky creatures and people. This fast-paced stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as 'I'm Late,' 'The Un-birthday Song,' and 'Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.'

Tarzan follows the extraordinary adventures of an orphaned infant raised by a family of gorillas and ultimately accepted as one of their own, destined to be their leader. As Tarzan matures into a young man, with all the instincts of a jungle animal and the physical prowess of an athletic superstar, his life changes forever when he finally meets other humans, with whom he feels an immediate and irresistible bond, especially Jane, the daughter of a giddy scientist. They are on an expedition to study gorillas in their natural habitat. But when their 'protector,' Clayton, plans to capture the gorillas for his own greedy gain, it's up to Tarzan to save the day. *Audiences should get ready for a brand new and exciting theatrical experience never before seen on the Playhouse stage.

Let's celebrate, Erie

Downtown Erie will come alive as wonderful sights, sounds and smells take over State Street from 4th to 12th Streets.

With a two-block 'Kid's Zone' as well as access to a wide array of arts, crafts, culinary and cultural offerings, this year's event will be one of the best ever.

Taste of Erie will be held in Perry Square starting August 16 at 5pm. Stay tuned for more details on performers and participating restaurants.

Grand Finale '12

On Sunday night at 9:30, Zambelli Fireworks Internationale will host one of its world-famous fireworks displays over the Bayfront at Dobbins Landing.

Over 25 seasonal brews available. This festival is a gateway for artists in the Erie community to showcase their talent and their work. More than 30 local artists and 25 local bands participating in the festivities.

Arts and Drafts is free to attend and is open to the public. It draws artists from Meadville, Edinboro, and other surrounding Erie areas.

Lake Erie Wine Country will hold their annual Wine & Cheese Weekend on May 18, 19 and 20. Ticket holders will visit any or all of our 23 participating wineries where they will enjoy a special wine paired with delicious artisan cheeses or food samples created with exquisite Yancey's Fancy cheeses. As in the past, ticket holders will receive a wine glass, recipe booklet, a $5 voucher for wine purchase and a gift. This year's gift is a wine bottle-shaped bamboo cutting board with a cheese spreader.

There is a diverse and delicious array of food offerings for this year's event. Cheese Fondue, Garden Stuffed Shells with Herb Cream Sauce, Bacon Maple Biscuits, Loaded Pasta Salad, Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast, Cheesy Spinach and Bacon Quiche, Beef Hash Brown Pizza Casserole, and Buffalo Blue Cheese Soup are but some of the foods that can be savored along with the perfect complementary wine.

Tickets are now on sale for the popular Wine & Cheese Weekend at only $35 per person. They may be purchased online at www.lakeeriewinecountry.org before Wednesday, May 16th at 9 a.m. Ticket holders will plan their own itinerary, enjoying each winery at their leisure on Friday, May 18 from noon-5 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Transportation is not provided. Wine & Cheese Weekend is sponsored by Yancey's Fancy Cheeses.

Designated driver tickets are available for only $20 and include everything except wine and the $5 voucher.

Lake Erie Wine Country, formerly The Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail, has been incorporated for more than a decade. They are a consortium of 23 wineries located on a 44-mile stretch between North East, PA and Silver Creek, NY along the southern shore of Lake Erie. The mission of this non-profit organization is to 'support and to market the wine and grape industries in Chautauqua County, New York and Erie County, Pennsylvania through the promotion of excellence in wine products, in winery and associate member facilities, and in the tourism experience in the region.'
