Hurricane on the Bayou carries audiences on a journey deep into theheart of Louisiana. Viewers follow a group of four musicians as they explore the electrifying culture of New Orleans before, during and after Hurricane Katrina, bringing focus to the rapidly disappearing wetlands that are New Orleans' first line of defense against deadly storms.

MUMMIES: SECRETS OF THE PHAROAHS - Showtimes 12pm, 2pm & 4pm

Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs follows researchers and explorers as they piece together the archeological and genetic clues of Egyptian mummies. These relics of the past create a window into the fascinating and mysterious world of the pharaohs. To unwrap the secrets of the pharaohs is to perhaps glimpse the future of our own civilization.

MYSTERIES OF THE GREAT LAKES - Showtimes 1pm & 5pm

Travel to the 'inland seas' where some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth is also the world's largest concentration of freshwater. The Great Lakes are home to varied wildlife, and 40 million Canadians and Americans rely on the Lakes for water. Discover how humanity has brought these Lakes to the brink of destruction…and back.

Many animals such as deer, coyotes, owls, raccoons, and others take advantage of Presque Isle State Park after the sun goes down. Join the Naturalists on March 12, 2010 at Long Pond Trail; meet at the trail head just before the East Pier from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm to see if any critters are on the prowl. Learn some fun facts and look for signs that wildlife leave behind along trail. Dress appropriate for the outdoors. The walk will be about 2 miles. No fee or registration required. Appropriate for all ages.

The park office at TREC is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally-related activities.
